The Process

We began with an in-depth analysis at both the B2B and D2C sides of the business. Since those two types of customers had different needs and goals, we mapped funnels for both.

With complete journeys for both personas, we mapped the information each customer would need, and then we created the site structure for it. I built out the wireframes from the site structure, then added interactions and basic coloring to test the blended light/dark background we designed.

Once designs and annotations were handed to the dev team, I QA’d the navigation and each content block as they were coded.

Team and Tools

As the UX Architect on the project, I collaborated with a Visual Design Lead and the team of developers.

After initial sketches on paper, we wireframed, comped, and prototyped in Adobe XD.

The finished site was built on Magento.

Results

For this artistic client, it was important to showcase their work to the fullest. We created a minimalist structure designed to let the images speak for themselves. The client saw an increase in D2C sales with their approachable, interactive experience.
